Since the pandemic, health and well-being have been a top priority for many. This newfound focus has changed how people choose to live and also where they want to create a home for themselves.

To gain further insight into how developments will reflect this new trend of health and well-being, Northacre commissioned The Future of a Life of Well-being Report. This was created by leading placemaking consultancy, Avansere, and was launched earlier this month during an event hosted by esteemed property and finance journalist, Anne Ashworth.

The panel of industry experts discussing the research was chaired by Tom Savigar of Avansere. Tom was joined by Nick Whitten, Head of UK Living Research & Strategy at JLL, Sophie Steed, Director of Squire & Partners, Geeta Sidhu-Robb, CEO of Noosh Detox and Thea Rowe, Associate Director of Bruce Gillingham Pollard.

They discussed the key findings of the report which included how:

The report concludes that the best developments will incorporate indoor and outdoor physical and digital wellness experiences, something that The Broadway has helped to facilitate within each apartment and with the new lifestyle destination, Orchard Place.

The project’s architects, Squire and Partners, have ensured that The Broadway apartments are connected to their local area with unrivalled views across Westminster and St. James’s Park, whilst Orchard Place will bring a thriving ecosystem of contemporary boutiques, cafes, restaurants and fitness studios.

As the warmer weather draws in, there is a feeling of anticipation and excitement throughout London.

It’s been a busy few months here at Northacre, with The Broadway nearing completion, The Future of a Life of Well-being event and The House of Walpole well underway.

Over 150 of The Broadway’s apartments are now complete and we are very excited to welcome its first residents by the end of the summer. We would like to take this opportunity to thank our fantastic construction partners who have ensured this project will be delivered on time and have maintained an exceptional level of quality and service throughout.

This remarkable project is set to be one of London’s most contemporary and vibrant new living quarters. What sets it apart from other developments is its mission and vision to help residents live life well.

Orchard Place, located in the centre of The Broadway, is the new Wellness Capital of London. The decision to create Orchard Place was a strategic choice based on the direct response to the changing needs and priorities of many individuals since the pandemic.

To gain a deeper understanding of how future developments will be impacted by this move towards well-being, Northacre commissioned The Future of a Life of Well-being Report. This was launched earlier this month during a panel event hosted at The Broadway show apartment, with guests enjoying a healthy breakfast and views over historic Westminster. Continue reading for more details on the report and the launch event.

In addition to its strong focus on well-being, The Broadway is also characterised by its distinctive and uncompromising approach to design and attention to detail. The development’s floor to ceiling windows ensure the iconic views of St. James Park, Westminster, and the London skyline serve as a stunning centrepiece for each apartment.

Discover more about the six unique views visible from each of the Broadway towers in the article below.

Finally, the passion from our partners continues to drive world-class standards. This has also ensured 75% of the apartments at our second landmark project No. 1 Palace Street are now complete. Considerable progress has been made to the amenities; the 20-metre pool, sauna and gymnasium, as well as the outdoor courtyard, are all progressing well and we couldn’t be more proud of this iconic Northacre development.

From the team here at Northacre, we hope you have had a positive start to spring, and we look forward to updating you further in the coming months.

Stars making their West End debuts, award-winning collaborators reuniting and fresh takes on seasoned classics are among the best new plays coming to the London theatre scene in 2022. Here are the highlights announced so far…

PRIMA FACIE, HAROLD PINTER THEATRE

She restyled the image of a female assassin with her Emmy and Bafta award-winning portrayal of the off-beat, sexy, fashion-conscious Villanelle in hit BBC series Killing Eve. More recently, she tugged on our heartstrings and tear ducts playing a tough but bone-tired care worker in Jack Thorne’s pandemic drama, Help. Jodie Comer is one of the most exciting and versatile actors working today, so it’s thrilling news that the Liverpudlian is making her West End debut in Australian playwright Suzie Miller’s award-winning play, Prima Facie.

When: 15th April – 18th June 2022

THE HUMAN VOICE, HAROLD PINTER THEATRE

Six years after Ruth Wilson and Ivo van Hove collaborated on the latter’s critically-acclaimed, thoroughly modern revival of Ibsen’s Hedda Gabler – a production which marked the Belgian director’s National Theatre debut and saw Wilson earn a Best Actress Olivier nomination for her performance in the leading role – the two are professionally reunited. Van Hove directs an adaptation of French writer Jean Cocteau’s The Human Voice, which is running for just 31 performances at the West End’s Harold Pinter Theatre this spring.

When: 17th March – 9th April 2022

THE SEAGULL, HAROLD PINTER THEATRE

Game of Thrones star Emilia Clarke is swapping her dragons for a seagull as she makes her West End debut in a fresh take on Chekhov. Clarke will play Nina, the ambitious ingenue at the heart of 1896 play, The Seagull.

The show is the second production in the delayed three-play West End residency from the Jamie Lloyd Company, which is making its mark placing famous actors in bold re-interpretations of classic plays.

When: 29th June – 10th September 2022

THE GLASS MENAGERIE, DUKE OF YORK’S THEATRE

Six-time Oscar nominee Amy Adams (Nocturnal Animals, Sharp Objects) makes her West End debut in a new production of Tennessee Williams’s The Glass Menagerie, directed by Jeremy Herrin (Wolf Hall trilogy, People, Places and Things) and designed by Vicki Mortimer (Follies, Wise Children). The production is the first from new theatre company Second Half Productions, which was launched in autumn 2021 by Herrin with his fellow former leader of Headlong Theatre (Angels in America, ENRON), Alan Stacey, and philanthropic supporter of theatre, Rob O’Rahilly. Paul Hilton (The Inheritance) and Tom Glynn-Carney (The Ferryman) also star, along with newcomers Lizzie Annis and Victor Alli.

When: 23rd May – 28th August 2022

Over at The Broadway, the distinctive architecture is truly taking shape. The six striking towers comprising 258 luxury apartments, penthouses, contemporary office space, retail outlets and restaurants, are all well underway.

A unique focus for this development is its blended lifestyle ecosystem, Orchard Place, which will be curated with stylish simplicity in mind. This innovative destination will encourage a community of like-minded people to choose a life of wellbeing, taking pleasure in living, working, and socialising locally.

Northacre CEO Niccolò comments, “With Orchard Place, we are looking to create the wellness district of London, open to all. The desire for wellness is set to grow and I anticipate we are only at the precipice of this trend as health replaces wealth at the top of many of our list of priorities”.

Tom Savigar, an expert in foresight, strategy and transformation at Avansere, also believes “the concept of ‘place’ is evolving, from a focus on property to how a lifestyle, a community, and a culture is created”.

Located in the heart of the city, overlooking Buckingham Palace gardens, the restoration of No.1 Palace Street and curation of 72 new luxury apartments, nears completion. We are delighted to announce that we will be unveiling the Grade II listed facade of Buckingham Gate this year, restored just in time for the Queen’s Jubilee in June. With the development designed to encapsulate the former Palace Street Hotel’s rich history, this restoration project is one we are all immensely proud of.

In partnership with Walpole and architectural interior design studio Oliver Burns, we have also been progressing well with the House of Walpole at No. 1 Palace Street. This bespoke apartment will showcase the best of British luxury brands. Continue reading to learn more about this exclusive collaboration.

We are thrilled to announce Northacre’s collaboration with luxury interior design and achitecture studio, Elicyon on the design of various communal areas at No.1 Palace Street.

Elicyon is a multi-award-winning luxury interior design studio based in Kensington, London. Elicyon has a wealth of experience in interior design and architecture, having carried out projects worldwide; from working on some of the most prestigious London postcodes, to villas in the Middle East, Shanghai apartments, and New York brownstone townhouses.

Elicyon will be working alongside Northacre and the No.1 Palace Street team to design and curate some truly stunning communal areas including; entrance lobbies, the resident lounge, library, meeting rooms, cinema, the spa reception and the swimming pool area.

“With art at the heart, our designs for the communal and amenity spaces at No.1 Palace Street weave together the varying architecture across the building. Classic contemporary and mid-century antique furniture combined with curvy organic elements reflect the traditional and modern parts of the development, with colour and vibrant textures threaded throughout every space.

Artistic centres from around the globe gather under one roof at No.1 Palace Street. The library, for example, is dedicated to Indian artists, whereas the meeting room celebrates art from Brazil, and Japanese artists dominate the walls in the Buckingham Gate lobby. Our aim with these thematic schemes was to allow the art in the building to transport residents across the world, whilst unifying a diverse set of cultures.”

Northacre is confident that Elicyon’s creative interior designs will complement No.1 Palace Street’s truly unique setting and architectural style.

Stay tuned for more information on this exciting collaboration coming soon.
