London is alive and buzzing with activity as we head into the holiday season. Here are some of our favourite finds to get you in the festive spirit.
CREATE YOUR OWN WREATH AT PETERSHAM NURSERIES
For a wholesome December activity, Petersham Nurseries in Richmond and Covent Garden are hosting step-by-step wreath-making classes. Get green-fingered and be imaginative in your designs using sustainable and biodegradable materials sourced from the Nurseries, in keeping with their low-waste ethos. Choose from delicate and wild foliage, berries, holly and ivy to make your garden-inspired wreath and go home with your creation to hang proudly on your door.
When: Saturday 4th December – Monday 13th December
Don’t miss the annual winter light trail at Kew’s Royal Botanical Gardens as it shines across the grounds over the festive period. Wander through the twinkling light tunnels, watch as the water features sparkle and be dazzled by the magical colours flooding the trees, all before catching the mesmerising display at Palm House. Warm up with a hot spiced cider or hot chocolate for the ultimate winter evening out.
When: Until Sunday 9th January 2022
Champagne house Moët & Chandon is bringing a sprinkle of magic to Somerset House with a sparkling takeover of the neoclassical courtyard and a fairytale-like ice-skating rink. Get your skates on and glide around to admire the 40-foot Christmas tree decorated with Moët Champagne corks and shimmering lights. The Skate Lounge is serving up bubbles – order the Winter Spiced Cocktail for a mulled wine-inspired taste – and check out the West Wing’s Chalet Barragiste from pop-up legend and food writer Jimmy Garcia for Alpine-style dining.
When: Until Sunday 16th January 2022
Here at Northacre, we love celebrating new residences and destinations across the capital. On the 29th of November, Bvlgari Hotel London unveiled their newest creation, the Bvlgari Lounge.
With a fresh new design by the architectural firm Antonio Citterio Patricia Viel, The Bvlgari Lounge offers elegant all-day dining in the comfort and glamour of an Italian-style “living room.” Cosy and intimate, it is also home to the Hotel’s new signature Dolci experience, as directed by pastry chef and chocolatier-in-residence Gianluca Fusto.
Italian pastry chef and chocolatier Gianluca Fusto as well as Il Cioccolato, Bvlgari’s master chocolatier, have created an exquisite menu that encompasses all things sweet from ‘Torte’ (cakes) and ‘Mono Porzioni’ to stunning chocolate ‘gems’.
