What’s next for Orchard Place resident artist Adam Ball?

The popular installation at Shake Gallery from renowned artist Adam Ball has recently drawn to a close. We asked Adam to reflect on his time in residence at Orchard Place and share what he’s looking forward to in 2024.

Q: How have you enjoyed your time in residence at Orchard Place? Have there been any highlights?

A: When I first saw the space last summer, while it was still a shell, I thought it would make a great gallery, as it had so much daylight and was a prime location. We teamed up with Shake Gallery and Northacre, who have been brilliant, and we’ve since had hundreds of visitors. It’s been great to engage with so many people who live or work in the area and seem happy to have a gallery here.

Q: What does 2024 hold for Adam Ball – where might we see you next and can you give us an insight into what you’re currently working on?

A: Shake Gallery and I are planning other events and exhibitions, and I’m working on a new body of work, finishing some commissions. Later this year I’ll be exhibiting in Lisbon and the US. Later this month, I’m talking at the Natural History Museum, where some of my artworks will be auctioned for charity.
